Full-time position; This position will work Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to midnight with a half-hour lunch; This position has a $.25 shift differential for time worked.
The Painter performs skilled painting work in the preparation, patching, finishing, and maintaining of interior and exterior surfaces (e.g., wood, plaster, drywall, steel, concrete), on all University building structures, walls, woodwork, furniture, and equipment following recognized procedures and techniques of the painting trade.
Education: High school diploma
Certification/License: Valid Missouri driver’s license
Experience: Three years of experience in the painting trade
Skills: Skilled painting ability which includes use of small hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, mechanical equipment and materials common to the painting trade and associated with the preparation of surfaces and painting; ability to interpret blueprints, color schemes, sketches, or schematics; computer literacy
This position will work Monday through Friday from 3:30 p.m. to midnight with a half-hour lunch break. This position may be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support University events or emergencies. The work may involve moderate discomfort and/or risk such as exposure to hazardous materials. The work area may be subject to environmental discomfort such as poor ventilation. Loud noises, and/or extremes of heat or cold. This position is considered essential staff. Essential staff provide services that relate directly to the health, safety, and welfare of the University, ensure continuity of key operations, and maintain and protect University properties. Should the University close for any reason, essential staff will report to work as usual.
May assist in supervising student and/or temporary employees.
Paint brushes, rollers, sprayers, sandpaper, sanders, steel wool, wire brushes, and related painting tools and equipment.
Work requires physical exertion such as climbing ladders, frequent lifting of objects over 50 pounds, crawling or crouching in restricted areas.
