Job summary

Ferguson Enterprises, LLC. seeks a knowledgeable Counter Sales Associate to advise plumbing and HVAC contractor customers and drive sales growth. The role emphasizes product expertise, problem solving, and delivering outstanding service at the counter.

Starting at $28.00 per hour with potential for higher pay based on experience; hours are Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Benefits include health/dental/vision, PTO, and a 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in customer service or sales; prior experience in plumbing/HVAC or related industry preferred.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals, build relationships, and influence purchasing decisions.
• Strong communication skills for consultative selling and customer engagement.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers proactively at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand their needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert by continuously learning plumbing, HVAC and related products to guide customer decisions.
• Drive sales growth by upselling, cross-selling, and promoting strategic products and programs.
• Utilize catalogs, computer systems, and manufacturer databases to locate parts and provide accurate, timely information.
• Process transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy and a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Associates to support account growth and deliver seamless service.
• Manage special orders and follow up on order status, back-orders, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional, organized counter environment reflecting quality and service.
• Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock organization.
• Adhere to safety regulations, including PPE usage.
