Job summary

Intermountain Health Primary Childrens Hospital is seeking a Plan Operator I in Salt Lake City to operate, maintain, and repair boiler and chiller systems within the Facilities Management department. The role requires entry-level plant operations experience and includes minor repairs and cross-task project support.

Schedule: Wed-Fri 1pm-11:30pm, Sat 8am-8:30pm; 40 hours weekly with full benefits. Emphasis on safety, documentation, and independent work capabilities in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• Some experience as a plant operator.
• Demonstrated abilities of the skills listed above
• A valid driver's license may be required for this position.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair hospital boiler/chiller systems; perform water treatment on boilers, steam systems, chillers, and cooling towers.
• Assist in boiler and chiller teardown and major maintenance.
• Winterize chillers and cooling towers; troubleshoot HVAC controls; maintain clean work area.
• Communicate effectively with staff at all levels and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Accurately submit timekeeping documentation.
• Demonstrate knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment such as boilers, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, AHUs.
