Job summary

Parity Inc. is seeking a Building Intelligence Engineer in the greater Washington DC area. You will leverage engineering expertise to ensure client buildings are quoted, set up, and optimized within Parity’s remote HVAC optimization services.

Ideal candidates have HVAC/building automation experience, are eager to learn, and can travel to client sites in the DC metro area. The role offers hybrid work with some on-site requirements and growth opportunities in a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with HVAC/building automation focus.
• 2–5 years in energy auditing, MEP engineering, or controls/building automation.
• Familiarity with energy incentive programs.
• Ability to travel to client sites within the greater Washington DC area.
• Eager to grow, learn, and tackle opportunities in a fast-growing startup.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site assessments to estimate savings and costs.
• Use Parity’s modeling tools for energy analysis based on site data.
• Manage installation and setup to meet schedule and budget.
• Coordinate software platform with field controllers and test control sequences.
• Complete final commissioning and sign-off to meet requirements.
• Manage incentive applications and procurement.
• Interview building staff to understand control protocols.
• Support sales with market details and proposals.
• Provide local technical resources for live buildings.
• Develop knowledge of BEPS and local policy requirements.
