Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support safe, reliable operation of mechanical and utility systems on site in Dayton, OH. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on chillers, steam systems, air compressors, pumps, and related infrastructure, coordinating with Operations, Construction, and Commissioning teams.

Responsibilities include on-call work and shifts including weekends, with a focus on troubleshooting, safety, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, or industrial/utility maintenance.
• Working knowledge of chillers, steam systems, pumps, piping, valves, and controls.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.
• EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal)

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot chiller systems, pumps, valves, heat exchangers.
• Support steam system operations, inspections, leak repairs, outages, and new piping ties.
• Maintain and repair air compressors, dryers, and utility pumps.
• Support construction, outages, utility tie-ins, and commissioning activities.
• Assist with BAS/BMS monitoring, alarms, and point checks.
• Follow all safety, compliance, and permit-to-work procedures.
• Document maintenance activities and collaboration with technicians, contractors, and client teams
