Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking ambitious apprentices to work on HVAC equipment and building automation systems at client sites. You will train through the Service Technical Academy and gain hands-on experience under experienced mentors.

You will learn to troubleshoot technical issues, deliver customer-focused service, and advance through attendance at required union training in the first year. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO.
• 1+ years of industry experience or servicing mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management, site prep, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Effective interpersonal skills to professionally represent Johnson Controls to customers.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites.
• Participate in Service Technical Academy training to build skills and potential advancement.
• Develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
• Keep customers and contractors informed of job progress and issues.
• Meet attendance requirements for required Union training in the first year.
• Provide recommendations to improve facility efficiency and upsell opportunities.
• Prepare quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
