Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an HVAC Apprentice to join our team. Apprentices will be trained on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites, participate in Service Technical Academy, and gain hands-on experience while building a pathway to advancement.

You will learn to troubleshoot, provide solutions to improve facility efficiency, and deliver quotes to support recommendations, with safety and attendance requirements and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of industry experience or servicing mechanical HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills to professionally represent Johnson Controls to customers and external contacts.
• Leadership to support mechanics on non-complex HVAC equipment on job sites.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently.
• Prioritize safety in all forms.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Apprentices will be trained and perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls at client sites.
• Participate in Service Technical Academy to build skills and opportunities for advancement.
• Develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and customer needs.
• Keep Johnson Controls, contractors, and customers informed of job progress and issues.
• Meet attendance requirements for required Union training in the first year.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to improve facility efficiency and upsell where appropriate.
• Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
