Job summary

Havtech Llc is seeking an HVAC Mechanical Engineering Intern in Ashland, VA, to gain hands-on experience in a commercial HVAC environment during the summer.

The intern will work with Applications Engineers across estimating, project submittals, pricing, and product selections, while learning about system design and industry standards. Open to junior or senior mechanical engineering students with strong math and office skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree currently in progress in Mechanical Engineering or related area.
• Interest in HVAC industry and potential HVAC-related career track.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Web-enabled applications.
• Ready to learn and assist others.
• Demonstrate collaborative and respectful behavior in a team environment.
• Excellent math aptitude.
• Time management skills and follow-up ability.
• Junior and senior level students preferred, but class level not required.

Responsibilities

• Gaining experience from a network of Applications Engineers in Estimating, Applied Equipment, Hydronics, and/or Air Distribution.
• Analyzing blueprints, specifications, and proposals; learning submittal process for bids.
• Providing technical support for sales teams and customers; creating proposals and pricing summaries.
• Collaborating with Estimating Operations Leader and Estimating on projects to coordinate activities.
