Job summary

Spring Branch Independent School District is seeking an HVAC Mechanic II to construct, modify, or repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and environmental control systems. The role works independently under general supervision and aims to optimize system effectiveness and efficiency.

Responsibilities include overhauling compressors, energy management surveys, handling work orders and estimates, maintaining records, and coordinating with principals and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Minimum ten years of related HVAC experience.
• EPA Universal license required or to be obtained within first year.
• Must hold a valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
• Preference for Stationary Building Engineer license within 12 months.
• HVAC/electrical maintenance license with City/State is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul large compressors and repair chiller/control problems.
• Conduct energy management and conservation surveys.
• Receive work orders, estimate materials and time, and document labor.
• Maintain records and respond to emergencies; coordinate with principals and inspectors.
• Adhere to laws, regulations, and safety procedures; may be on-call after hours.
