Job summary

The City of Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a HVAC Support Technician to assist in routine repairs and maintenance of City buildings and equipment. Under supervision, you will pass tools, prepare tasks, and support skilled workers on HVAC installations.

The role requires a high school diploma, some HVAC experience, and the ability to obtain EPA Section 608 certification within 6 months. You must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from high school with some experience in HVAC
• Preference given to vocational or technical HVAC diploma/training

Responsibilities

• Assists a skilled worker in HVAC repairs and installations.
• Passes tools and materials, performs preparatory work, and cleans after work.
• Operates trucks to job sites and runs errands for skilled workers; cleans and cares for tools.
• Performs routine building, HVAC and mechanical repairs under instructions.
• Uses standard tools and equipment of the trades as needed.
