Job summary

SPX Technologies in Missouri is seeking an Engineering Technician I to support product research, development, and design of heat exchanger components. You will set up and conduct tests—thermal, fan, mechanical, and vibration—using established procedures with minimal supervision.

You will calibrate equipment, collect data, prepare reports, and troubleshoot issues. The role also involves supporting purchasing, maintaining equipment, and assisting with environmental, safety, and maintenance tasks,

Qualifications

• Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or industrial technology.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience reading blueprints and technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Testing, Prototyping, & Data Management
• Set up and execute tests according to established procedures; calibrate and verify instrumentation accuracy
• Construct and design prototypes; read drawings and follow technical procedures
• Document test processes, prepare data for engineering review, and write summary reports
• Equipment, Facility, & Process Support
• Perform routine maintenance of laboratory and facility equipment; maintain data acquisition systems
• Purchase project and facility materials and propose facility or process improvements
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (e.g., ANSI, ASTM, ISO, OSHA)
• Technical Collaboration & Leadership
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide support for product development and field-testing activities
• Communicate scheduling needs and workload conflicts while managing time independently
• Train, mentor, and support technicians, interns, and cross-functional teams, including customer demonstrations
