Job summary

Granite School District seeks a skilled HVAC Journeyman to install, repair, and maintain building HVAC-R equipment across district facilities. Reliable attendance, presentability, and timeliness are essential.

You will work with energy management controls and indoor air quality programs, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operation of systems while mentoring apprentices and coordinating with supervisors on project priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a current and valid driver's license.
• Four years of job-related experience are required.
• Must possess a current and valid Refrigerant Handlers Certification (Class 1 & 2).
• Must be willing to obtain Boiler Operator's and Steam Engineer's permit within two years.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and services building HVAC-R equipment.
• Participates in refrigerant tracking per EPA/DOT regulations.
• Inspects boilers to ensure safe operation and energy efficiency.
• Inspects HVAC-R systems, ducts, dampers, and air distribution equipment.
• Works with Energy Management and IAQ initiatives; supports apprentices and safety policies.
• Performs tasks with minimal on-site supervision and prioritizes jobs.
