Job summary

Gilbert Unified School District is seeking an HVAC Journeyman to install, repair, and maintain heating and air conditioning systems across district facilities.

This 12-month position requires a Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card, a valid high school diploma or equivalent, and coordination with other trades to complete projects. The role offers an hourly rate starting at $24.50 depending on experience and standard 8-hour days.

Qualifications

• HVAC journeyman qualifications required.
• Must possess Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
• Experience with heating, ventilation and refrigeration systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in repair and installation in maintenance projects.
• Coordinate with administration and other trades to complete work orders.
• Diagnose problems in HVAC/refrigeration systems and determine repairs.
• Fabricate sheet metal parts for installations or repairs.
• Inform staff about procedures and status of work orders.
• Inspect facilities to ensure safety and identify repairs.
• Install HVAC equipment and systems to provide comfortable spaces.
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.
• Prepare documentation to provide written support.
• Repair components (e.g. chiller equipment, cooling towers) as needed.
• Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory.
• Respond to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.
