Job summary

Kelso Industries is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician to perform commercial retrofit work across facilities in the Boston area. You will upgrade and replace heating and cooling equipment, read blueprints, and install VRF/VRV systems and modern controls.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in HVAC, EPA Universal and OSHA 10, and are comfortable working on-site with customers while meeting project timelines. We offer competitive pay up to $42/hour and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on HVAC experience.
• Proficiency with VRF Systems and light commercial work.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and manufacturer documentation.
• EPA Universal certification required.
• OSHA 10 required.

Responsibilities

• Remove and replace commercial heating and cooling equipment, including furnaces, air conditioners, chillers, and rooftop package units.
• Install modern systems such as Variable Air Volume (VAV) and Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) equipment, along with advanced building controls.
• Run low-voltage control wiring and complete rough-in work.
• Assist with light sheet metal fabrication and installation as needed.
• Follow all applicable federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
• Communicate with customers on-site to answer questions and explain work being performed.
• Work alongside crew members to keep projects on schedule and meet customer expectations.

About This Role

This position focuses on commercial retrofit HVAC work – upgrading and replacing existing building systems including HVAC equipment to improve energy efficiency, meet code requirements, and boost overall performance.
