Job summary

Kelso Industries in the United States (Ogden, UT area) seeks an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician to join our service team. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize a wide range of commercial HVAC systems across facilities, with a safety-first approach and a track record of delivering quality service.

You will work with chillers, BAS/DDC controls, and pumps, perform preventive maintenance, interpret diagrams, document work, and mentor apprentices when possible.

Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification is required.
  • 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
  • Experience with BAS/DDC controls is a plus.
  • Strong electrical troubleshooting across low/high voltage.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and access mechanical rooms, rooftops and confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair all types of commercial HVAC equipment.
  • Commission and start up chiller and controls systems, optimizing for peak efficiency.
  • Identify and resolve electrical, mechanical, and controls-related issues.
  • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance on chillers, cooling towers, pumps, boilers, and supporting equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
  • Keep accurate, timely documentation of all service work, repairs, and recommendations.
  • Communicate clearly with customers about system conditions, findings, and next steps.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements, EPA standards, and internal company policies.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior technicians when applicable.

Job Summary

We're looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Technician with deep expertise in a wide variety of commercial HVAC systems and building automation to join our service team. In this role, you'll handle complex diagnostics, repairs, preventative maintenance, and system optimization across commercial and industrial facilities. Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • Comfortable working independently with limited oversight.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Factory certifications or formal training on major chiller manufacturers.
  • Hands-on controls programming or commissioning background.
  • Prior experience in hospitals, industrial plants, or large-scale commercial buildings.
