Job summary

Kelso Industries in Beltsville, MD, is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose and repair commercial and residential systems. You’ll handle rooftop units, VRF systems, boilers, and heat pumps, perform preventive maintenance, and interpret schematics to ensure peak performance.

You will travel to job sites, communicate clearly with clients and teammates, maintain service records, and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a similar role.
• Proficiency with VRF systems and light commercial work.
• EPA 608 certification.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, and mechanical components.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair HVAC systems, including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, and heat pumps.
• Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues in HVAC equipment.
• Replace or repair defective components such as motors, compressors, fans, and thermostats.
• Interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding service findings and recommendations.
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed, parts used, and system conditions.
• Ensure all work complies with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.

• Hourly Rate: Up to $50/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
