Daikin Applied in Montgomery, AL, is hiring an HVAC Installer/Sheetmetal Mechanic/Technician II to install and service commercial HVAC equipment, including chillers, boilers, rooftop units, and air handlers. The role requires reading blueprints, running piping and ductwork, wiring, and performing preventive maintenance.

You will lead Level I techs and communicate with customers on progress. The position offers OSHA safety training, regional and on-the-job learning, and opportunities to work with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Technical school with HVAC certificate or equivalent is preferred.
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
• Rotational Emergency Call Support may be required.
• Licenses or training cards as required by local law district.

Responsibilities

• Install new commercial HVAC equipment and related items such as chillers, boilers, split systems, air handlers, rooftops units and ductwork.
• Read blueprints and layout mechanical rooms for new equipment installation.
• Run piping, ductwork, wire, conduit and pour concrete.
• Occasionally perform maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment and replace filters/belts.
• Inspect and identify potential problems to prevent breakdowns or callbacks.
• Direct Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of installation steps.
• Record and report billing, inventory, timecards, and other reports timely.
• Interact with customers by providing status updates during and after installation.

In this role, you will be responsible for installing and doing pre-startup tasks for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!Location: Montgomery, AL. - OnsiteWhat you will do:Install new commercial HVAC equipment and related items such as chillers, boilers, split systems, air handlers, rooftops units and ductwork.Read blueprints and layout of mechanical rooms for new equipment installationRun piping, ductwork, wire, conduit and pour concreteOccasionally perform maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment including, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubricationOccasionally repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, chillers and condenser tubesOccasionally maintain and inspect equipment to identify potential problems to prevent premature and unexpected breakdowns or callbacksDirect Level I technicians through hands-on demonstrations of all necessary steps to install equipmentRecord and report billing, inventory, timecards, technician tip reports, and other articles as required and in a timely mannerInteract with customers by offering status reports of the equipment installation, during, and after each jobParticipate in available training through regional technician trainers, off-site learning modules, and Daikin Learning.
