Job summary

Air-Heat Mechanical Contractors is seeking an HVAC Installation Helper to work with our lead installers on commercial and light commercial projects throughout the Metro Atlanta area. No prior HVAC experience is required for an entry-level candidate with reliability and a strong work ethic.

You will learn to assist with the installation of split systems, ductwork, and related equipment, while loading materials, maintaining jobsite safety, and following company procedures.

Qualifications

• Reliable transportation to report to the shop or jobsite daily.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work on rooftops.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and safe use of hand/power tools.
• Ability to follow directions and work in a crew environment.
• Willingness to learn HVAC installation and sheet metal basics.
• Respect for customers, coworkers and property.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead installers with installation and replacement of HVAC systems and related equipment.
• Load, unload, and stage materials; prepare work areas; help set and secure equipment.
• Assist with sheet metal and ductwork assembly, installation, sealing, and insulation.
• Help install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, wiring, controls, and accessories under direction of a lead installer.
• Remove old equipment and keep jobsites clean, orderly, and safe.
• Follow instructions, company procedures, and safety rules to ensure quality work.

About the Opportunity

Air-Heat Mechanical Contractors is hiring an HVAC Installation Helper to work alongside our lead installers on commercial and light commercial projects throughout the Metro Atlanta area.

What You'll Do

• Assist lead installers with the installation and replacement of split systems, packaged rooftop units (RTUs), ductwork, exhaust systems, and related HVAC equipment.
• Load, unload, and stage materials; prepare work areas; and help set, level, support, and secure equipment and components.
• Assist with sheet metal and ductwork assembly, installation, sealing, insulation, and support work.
• Help install refrigerant piping, condensate drains, wiring, controls, and accessories under the direction of a lead installer.
• Remove old equipment and materials while keeping jobsites clean, orderly, and safe.
• Follow instructions, company procedures, manufacturer requirements, and all jobsite safety rules.
• Learn proper installation practices, tool use, equipment layout, startup support, and jobsite organization.

• Ability to follow directions, work as part of a crew, and accept coaching from experienced installers.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, access rooftops, and work in indoor and outdoor jobsite conditions.
• Professional conduct and respect for customers, coworkers, and customer property.

Experience and Growth

No previous HVAC experience is required for an entry-level candidate with the right attitude and reliability. Experience with HVAC installation, ductwork, construction, sheet metal, electrical work, or similar mechanical work is a plus.
