We Care Heating and Air in Orange, CA is seeking an HVAC Install Apprentice to support licensed technicians by setting up and installing heating and cooling systems in homes and businesses. This entry-level position emphasizes hands-on learning for a long-term career in the HVAC trade.

Responsibilities include assisting with ductwork and wiring, tool prep, following blueprints, and adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in HVAC apprenticeship or trade school preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hand and power tools expected.
• Willingness to learn HVAC installation practices and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC installers with setup, installation and replacement of HVAC systems, including ductwork and wiring.
• Prepare tools, materials, and work areas; perform measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling under supervision.
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and project instructions; ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites; document work performed and time logs.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers; participate in training and safety meetings to build HVAC knowledge.

Position Summary

As an HVAC Install Apprentice, you'll support licensed technicians and installers with setting upand installing heating and air conditioning systems in homes and businesses, learning hands‑on as you go. Key Responsibilities

• Assist HVAC installers with the setup, installation, and replacement of HVAC systems, including ductwork and wiring
• Prepare tools, materials, and work areas, and perform basic tasks like measuring, cutting, drilling, and assembling under supervision
• Follow blueprints, schematics, and project instructions from senior technicians, ensuring all work meets building codes and safety regulations
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites, and document work performed and time logs as required
• Communicate professionally with customers and coworkers, and take part in training and safety meetings to build your HVAC trade knowledge

QualificationsRequirements

Education

Experience

Licenses/Certifications

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision

Physical Demands and Conditions

• Lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods
• Work performed indoors, outdoors, and sometimes in confined spaces or varying weather conditions

Work Environment/Travel

• Field-based role with daily travel to residential and commercial job sites
• May require evening, weekend, or overtime work depending on project schedules
