Job summary

Havtech in Richmond, VA is seeking an Area Service Manager to lead the Service Team across Richmond and greater Virginia. You will oversee daily operations, dispatch, and customer service excellence, while coordinating with coordinators, technicians, and sales.

Role requires HVAC leadership experience, strong communication, and ability to travel. You will mentor staff, manage safety programs, and contribute to financial targets and staffing plans.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree plus 5 years of HVAC management experience.
• 8+ years of related experience in HVAC is preferred.
• Experience with installation or service of HVAC equipment and building systems preferred.
• Experience supervising union employees preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and office equipment.
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a team setting.
• Punctual, reliable, and able to work under pressure.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions with good judgment.
• Ability to travel independently and work outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Service Coordinators to assign qualified techs.
• Review work tickets, follow-up, and communications with customers.
• Collaborate with Supply, Coordinators, and Technicians for parts and materials.
• Ensure efficient scheduling and maximum productivity of field staff.
• Liaise with sales to obtain necessary job information and startup paperwork.
• Ensure technicians receive proper documentation for each job.
• Support invoicing to drive accurate billing.
• Mentor field staff and identify training needs.
• Provide guidance on HVAC product and system expertise.
• Assist with safety implementations and site visits.
• Forecast hiring needs with operations leaders and acquisitions.
• Support business development through customer meetings and site visits.
