Job summary

WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, seeks an HVAC Field Engineer for Mt Vernon, NY and NY Metro area project sites. The role supports planning, coordination, and execution of HVAC work under the general contractor, ensuring installation per design, schedule, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management background with 2+ years in HVAC/MEP construction, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Project/Primavera P6.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; High School Diploma required.
• Two (2)+ years of experience in HVAC or MEP construction.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems, codes, and commissioning practices.

Responsibilities

• Review HVAC drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and constructability.
• Coordinate with mechanical subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other trades to resolve design or field issues.
• Assist with layout, installation planning, and field verification of mechanical systems.
• Support BIM coordination and clash detection for MEP systems.
• Monitor HVAC installation activities for compliance with plans, codes, and safety.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks on ductwork, piping, insulation, and equipment installations.
• Maintain daily logs, track progress, and assist in field reports and punch lists.
• Verify equipment deliveries, storage, and handling per manufacturer requirements.
• Develop and maintain MEP project schedules; track progress against milestones.
• Assist in cost tracking, change orders, and subcontractor billing verification.
• Coordinate HVAC testing, balancing, commissioning documentation, and turnover packages.
