HVAC FACILITY MAINTENANCE LEAD TECHNICIAN

The company desires an individual with a high level of knowledge related to Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Life Safety, and miscellaneous building systems. Good customer service and exceptional technical skills, including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairs, along with executing preventive maintenance (PM) activities, are essential. There is some limited oversight of subcontractors as required. Supervision of technical and non-technical technicians is a key requirement of this position. The preferred candidate will be a hands-on Supervisor, self-starter, dependable, and able to quickly learn client sites, buildings, and systems. Fluency in English and Spanish is a requirement. A company vehicle will be provided.

Position Summary:

Jorgensen has an immediate opening for an experienced HVAC Facility Maintenance Lead Technician in support of corporate-owned/leased properties in West Palm Beach/Pompano Beach, Florida. We desire an individual with a high degree of focus on customer service and with technical skill sets and aptitude for facilities maintenance, including electrical, mechanical, and general building troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repair; along with executing preventive maintenance (PM) activities and including oversight of subcontracted services as required. Must be customer service oriented, be a self-starter, have a professional manner, be able to make informed decisions, and have a willingness to learn.

Requirements:
  1. Proven ability to lead and supervise local and mobile staff experience is a must.
  2. Requires minimum 8 years related experience.
  3. Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  4. Customer interface (communications, problem solving, work prioritization & scheduling).
  5. HVAC / CRAC Units – EPA Certified (PM, system monitoring, knowledge and familiarization), air cooled water chiller knowledge a plus.
  6. Building Management Systems and FM extinguishing systems knowledge are a must.
  7. Troubleshooting skills (diagnosing problems).
  8. Electrical skills (changing and installing lights, electrical outlets, minor electrical troubleshooting).
  9. Familiarity with UPS / Emergency Generator and Fire / Life / Safety Systems.
  10. Plumbing (minor restroom repair of toilets, sinks, and fixtures).
  11. Building maintenance (doors & hardware, furniture & hardware, bulletin boards, etc.).
  12. Computer skills (email, scheduling, maintenance management, work order & PMs).
  13. Reliability and flexibility.
  14. Ability to speak and understand English well.
Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  2. Maintain company standards for background checks (i.e. Criminal record and controlled substance/drug testing).
  3. Practical work experience.
  4. Exhibit strong customer service skills and a strong work ethic.
  5. Self-starter with a professional manner.
  6. Maintain proper safety equipment required for each job.
  7. Neat, clean and presentable appearance.
  8. Ability to adjust to changing work schedule.
Schedule:

Full time; flexible Day shift, Monday through Friday. Must be able to respond to on-call emergencies (rotating Schedule).

Salary:

Based on experience.
