Job summary

Celestica Inc. is seeking a Facilities Specialist in the Dallas area to lead complex HVAC-related projects from inception to completion.

You will act as a technical lead, assist with contractor selection and manage site planning to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery and adherence to exact specifications. You will inspect facility systems, respond to emergencies, coordinate service contracts, and monitor project progress while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operations across sites.

Qualifications

• Ten years of relevant HVAC design engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer license (PE) or ASHRAE certification is a plus.
• Education may vary by geography; GED or equivalent accepted.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine inspections of Facility systems - HVAC, plumbing, water quality equipment to prevent unscheduled downtime.
• Respond to emergency repairs to minimize facility downtime and disruption to operations
• Coordinates contract services, inspections and audits as necessary.
• Manages multiple projects varying in complexity using solid project management skills and tools.
• Monitors and reports progress status of projects along with quality, schedule, safety, security, productivity, administration, worksite appearance to site management team and evaluates contractors on these aspects. Ensures compliance with applicable government EHS regulations.
• Must have a background operating as a mechanical specialist who plans and creates heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for buildings and labs. They calculate thermal loads, select equipment, and draw blueprints to ensure safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient indoor climates.
• Familiarity with NFPA 70e program for electrical safety in general.
• Familiarity with best work practices
• Ability to evaluate, diagnose and troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to evaluate materials, gather and analyze data and determine root cause of problems.
• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and coordinate multiple, changing deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of internal and external customers

Education

GED or equivalent

Professional Engineer (PE) license or ASHRAE Certification (a plus)
