Job summary

CoolSys, a nationwide leader in refrigeration, HVAC, and energy management, seeks a Project Estimator - Level 1 to support commercial HVAC projects. You will learn to analyze plans, perform take-offs, and develop competitive estimates under mentorship.

Ideal candidates have HVAC knowledge and a desire to build a career in mechanical estimating, with exposure to estimating software and strong math/communication skills.

Qualifications

• 5 years of HVAC or construction-related experience.
• Understanding of HVAC systems and terminology.
• Knowledge of IMC/UMC and local codes.
• Ability to read construction documents and mechanical plans.
• Proficiency in Excel and willingness to learn estimating software.
• Strong math, organization, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings and specifications.
• Perform take-offs for ductwork, piping, and equipment.
• Generate Proposals.
• Peer review takeoffs with senior estimators.
• Organize and input vendor pricing and subcontractor quotes.
• Maintain estimate documentation and internal bid files.
• Coordinate with internal teams on scope validation and bidding timelines.
• Participate in training sessions and mentorship activities.
