Job summary

ProSource Group in New York is seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to join our mechanical contracting team. You will develop competitive estimates and bids across corporate interiors, mission-critical facilities, commercial fit-outs, and major HVAC upgrades.

You will review drawings and bid documents, perform detailed takeoffs, coordinate with vendors and subcontractors, and support value engineering. This role offers growth within a stable project portfolio and exposure to large-scale NYC

Qualifications

• 5+ years of HVAC or mechanical estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, equipment, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents and produce accurate takeoffs.
• Understanding of labor productivity, material pricing, subcontractor/vendor scope, and overall project costs.
• Experience with HVAC estimating/takeoff software and Bluebeam is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC project estimates including piping, ductwork, equipment, controls, labor, and scopes.
• Review drawings, specs, bid documents, and addenda to define scope and risks.
• Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs with rates and productivity factors.
• Gather, review, and align vendor and subcontractor quotes for full scope coverage.
• Develop bid clarifications, exclusions, and qualifications.
• Support value-engineering and competitive bid strategies.
• Collaborate with senior management on final bid review and submission.
• Prepare turnover docs and coordinate with project management post-award.

Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced HVAC Estimator to join a well-established mechanical contractor delivering large-scale HVAC projects throughout New York City. This individual will be responsible for developing competitive estimates and bids across a range of projects, including corporate interiors, mission-critical facilities, commercial fit-outs, and major HVAC upgrades. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with strong takeoff capabilities and a solid understanding of HVAC systems, and the New York construction market.

Your main duties will include:

• Preparing detailed estimates for HVAC projects, including piping, ductwork, equipment, controls, labor, and associated mechanical scopes.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, bid documents, and addenda to establish complete scope and identify potential risks or gaps.
• Completing detailed material and labor takeoffs and applying appropriate rates and productivity factors.
• Obtaining, reviewing, and leveling vendor and subcontractor quotations to ensure complete scope coverage.
• Developing bid clarifications, exclusions, and qualifications.
• Supporting value-engineering initiatives and developing competitive bid strategies.
• Working with senior management through final bid review and submission.
• Preparing detailed turnover documentation and coordinating with project management teams following award.

To be successful, you will possess:

• 5+ years of HVAC or mechanical estimating experience.
