ProSource Group is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead large-scale HVAC projects across Manhattan and the wider New York City market. This role oversees projects from preconstruction through installation, commissioning and closeout, with emphasis on budgets, scheduling and procurement.

A strong NY market knowledge and 5+ years in HVAC project management are required. The position offers exposure to corporate interiors, commercial fit-outs and mission-critical facilities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience within HVAC or mechanical contracting.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, piping, ductwork, equipment, controls.
• Experience managing mechanical projects from award through closeout.
• Understanding of budgets, cost control, procurement, and scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Manage HVAC projects from award through completion, ensuring safety, schedule, and budget.
• Review drawings, specs, contracts, and scope requirements.
• Coordinate piping, ductwork, equipment, controls, and mechanical scopes.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, change orders, procurement, and financial performance.
• Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field teams and stakeholders.
• Oversee procurement of equipment and materials to support schedules.
• Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project docs.
• Monitor schedules, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain relationships with clients, GC, consultants, and teams.
• Oversee project closeout, commissioning, punch lists, and final documentation.

Role Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join a well-established mechanical contractor delivering large-scale HVAC projects throughout Manhattan and the wider New York City market.

This individual will be responsible for managing commercial HVAC projects from preconstruction and project handover through installation, commissioning, and closeout. Projects will include corporate interiors, commercial fit-outs, mission-critical facilities, and major HVAC upgrades.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager with strong commercial HVAC experience and a solid understanding of mechanical systems, project financials, and the New York construction market.

Your main duties will include:

• Managing commercial HVAC projects from award through completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Reviewing project drawings, specifications, contracts, and scope requirements.
• Coordinating HVAC piping, ductwork, equipment, controls, and associated mechanical scopes.
• Managing project budgets, cost forecasts, change orders, procurement, and overall financial performance.
• Coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field teams, and other project stakeholders.
• Managing equipment and material procurement to support project schedules and installation requirements.
• Reviewing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project documentation.
• Monitoring project schedules, identifying potential risks or delays, and implementing corrective actions where required.
• Maintaining strong relationships with clients, general contractors, consultants, and project teams.
• Overseeing project closeout, commissioning, punch lists, and final documentation.

To be successful, you will possess:

• 5+ years of Project Management experience within the HVAC or mechanical contracting industry.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, including piping, ductwork, equipment, controls, and installation methods.
• Experience managing commercial mechanical projects from award through closeout.
• Strong understanding of project budgets, cost control, change management, procurement, and scheduling.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with construction management software and Bluebeam is advantageous.
