Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an Equipment Systems Application Engineer to support the construction sales team with pre-sales activities on building systems and equipment opportunities. The role also covers post-sale project execution to ensure profitability, accuracy and on-time delivery.

You will create detailed submittals, cost estimates, and proposals, collaborating with Account Executives and service teams to meet customer expectations and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years engineering experience with HVAC Equipment Systems.
• Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Visio; Adobe Writer; Windows OS.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• US citizen or Permanent Resident; no sponsorship offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and limited estimating during project design.
• Assist in developing the customer business case for the concept.
• Support detailed estimating for Account Execs to present to clients.
• Validate assumptions during proposal and development phases.
• Build detailed cost estimates and scope of work with Sales.
• Prepare proposals and customer communications documents.
• Prepare quotes with takeoffs, reviews, and RFQ/RFI issuance.
• Help ensure basis of design through timely selections and specs.
• Manage project Profit and Loss and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate equipment orders and delivery with branch and customers.
• Visit sites to verify delivery and compliance with contract requirements.
• Ensure project documentation complies with Johnson Controls standards.
