Job summary

Custom Air Products & Services, Inc. (CAPS) seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design electrical systems for custom HVAC equipment and field-installed projects. You will produce detailed drawings, BOMs, and submittal documents to support manufacturing and installation.

This role requires a BSEE, 8–10 years in HVAC/manufacturing, and proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical. A Texas PE license is preferred for depending scope, and familiarity with NEC/NFPA codes is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.
Minimum 8–10 years of experience in HVAC or manufacturing.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical is required.
Strong knowledge of NEC codes and hazardous location experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Design electrical power and control systems for HVAC equipment.
Develop wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
Prepare HVAC sequences of operation.
Perform electrical calculations including MCA and MOCP, SCCR, wire sizes.
Select electrical components based on design and project requirements.
Create detailed back panel layouts and specify electrical connections.
Prepare complete engineering drawing packages and BOMs for electrical systems.
Review redlines and as-built updates; coordinate with fabrication and installation teams.
Communicate design intent and technical information to internal teams.
