Southland Industries is seeking a Design Engineer I to support design-build and design-assist projects across healthcare, education, biotech, and commercial markets. You will collaborate with model coordinators, estimators, and field staff to ensure practical, efficient, and cost-effective designs.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree required.
• PE license preferred.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic deliverables and products such as calculations, drawings, and specifications related to HVAC systems under supervision.
• Performs basic calculations for a project, such as heating/cooling loads and equipment sizing.
• Assist in coordinating design with project management, architects, and other trades through completion.
• Perform and check CADD drafting work.
