Job summary

Insight Global seeks an HVAC Controls Technician for our federal Pentagon project. You will install, commission, and troubleshoot Johnson Controls Metasys-based BAS, performing preventive maintenance and field changes.

You will train customers and document procedures, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The role requires 5+ years in HVAC controls, knowledge of DDC systems, and the ability to obtain security clearances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years installing, troubleshooting, commissioning HVAC controls systems.
• Knowledge of electronic or digital controls, BAS and facilities management.
• Must obtain/maintain security clearances (background, criminal, employment).
• Programming/troubleshooting HVAC controls products (Metasys, Honeywell, Siemens, etc.).
• Experience with BAS protocols: BACnet MSTP/IP, Modbus, LON, etc.
• Experience with Metasys or Niagara DDC systems.
• Experience using SMP, SCT, and/or CCT.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, repair, install, commissioning, and point-to-point checks on HVAC controls systems.
• Diagnose and repair electronic control malfunctions using digital control systems.
• Test and modify system software; assist with field changes and drawings.
• Provide training and documentation to customers on control systems operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
• Read blueprints and schematics; complete project documentation and punch lists.
