Job summary

Johnson Controls Federal Systems is seeking an HVAC Control Systems Technician to support the National Defense University in Washington, D.C. The role focuses on monitoring and maintaining Siemens BAS/DDC controls, with exposure to Metasys and other BAS platforms.

The position offers a 7:30am–3:30pm Monday–Friday schedule and full benefits from day one. Applicants should have hands-on experience with BAS, DDC systems, and computer proficiency, plus the ability to obtain security clearances.

Qualifications

  • Operational experience with Siemens Apogee/Desigo and Tridium Niagara or Metasys BAS.
  • Experience commissioning, troubleshooting or installing DDC systems.
  • Knowledge of HVAC principles.
  • Proficiency with computers.
  • Good written and spoken communication.
  • Self-starter with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to obtain government security clearances.

Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitors Facility Control Systems using Siemens BAS.
  • Maintains and monitors performance of Facility Control Systems and alarms.
  • Creates work orders in CMMS; performs preventive maintenance.
  • Tests and modifies system software as needed.
  • Performs minor HVAC maintenance tasks and service.
