Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our federal team supporting the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. The role centers on HVAC building automation and Direct Digital Controls, developing sequences of operations and integrating low‑voltage subsystems.

You will configure, program, test, and validate system performance, load and commission controllers, and assist field technicians to ensure quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in DDC programming, commissioning, and testing.
• Experience integrating low voltage building subsystems using LON, BacNet, Modbus.
• Willingness to complete JCI training C-7201-EN and C-10122-EN.
• Ability to obtain security clearances/badging.

Responsibilities

• Configure and program HVAC building automation and create sequences of operations.
• Develop and test software to operate the system.
• Support technicians by ensuring quality, timeliness, and efficiency of designs.
• Load, commission, bench test, and troubleshoot system-level building control systems and network-level controllers.
• Validate complete system functionality.
• Provide field change information to the project team for as‑built drawings and software.
