Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a dedicated HVAC Controls Systems Team Lead to guide daily field activities and drive successful delivery of building automation projects in Baton Rouge, LA. You will mentor a team, coordinate with customers and subcontractors, and ensure safety and quality in all field operations.

You will oversee installation, commissioning, service, and start-up of controls systems, while maintaining strong communication with customers and internal partners.

Qualifications

• University degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, HVAC, Electrical, Mechanical, Building Automation, or related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in HVAC controls, building automation systems, controls installation, commissioning, service, or project delivery.
• Demonstrated experience leading field activities and coordinating technical work in a customer-facing environment.
• Working knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC controls, system commissioning, and controls troubleshooting.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and team leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3 to 6 Controls Systems Technicians in field work including installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, validation, and service.
• Coordinate field execution with project managers, customers, subcontractors, and other trades for successful delivery.
• Provide coaching and development support to technicians to grow technical and customer service skills.
• Support diagnosis and resolution of complex issues involving controls hardware, software, networks, and system integration.
• Review project requirements and provide technical direction to ensure installation aligns with design intent.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and field execution activities.
• Support Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities and ongoing customer site requirements.
