Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks an HVAC Controls Systems Engineer to design and commission intelligent HVAC control systems for complex building projects. You will develop hardware and software, create diagrams, schedules, and ensure seamless operation with field teams and partners.

You will lead commissioning, document as-builts, and train operators while upholding safety standards. A strong background in mechanical, electrical, and control systems and Metasys tools is essential; a degree or equivalent

Qualifications

• Hands-on expertise installing and commissioning Metasys systems with system-level controllers.
• Proficient with Metasys Tools RAC Schedule, CCT, SCT and Visio.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical and control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and proactive learning skills.
• Experience translating vision into detailed design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design hardware and software for HVAC control systems aligned with project goals.
• Create flow diagrams, network layouts, and electrical schematics from standard library.
• Code and validate HVAC control software using established design standards.
• Coordinate drawings and schedules for submittals to communicate vision clearly.
• Select, order, and manage materials; align with factory timelines.
• Lead on-site commissioning to verify full system functionality and troubleshoot issues.
• Capture field updates, revise documentation, and prepare operation manuals.
• Provide site-specific training to operators and maintain safety standards.
