Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking Mechanical/Engineering students for an HVAC Controls Sales Engineer Internship in the United States.

The role blends engineering with business, giving hands-on experience in HVAC controls, BAS, energy management, and technical sales in a customer-facing setting. Interns will learn to design solutions, perform evaluations, and communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences, through field exposure, mentorship, and real-world projects within sales and project

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or related technical field.
• U.S. citizen or valid right to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship)
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer
• Interest in combining engineering with customer engagement, business development and consultative sales
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
• Comfortable interacting with customers, contractors, engineers and cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Support Sales Engineers in designing HVAC controls and building automation solutions that meet sustainability and energy goals.
• Attend customer meetings, site surveys and technical discussions to capture requirements.
• Prepare technical proposals, presentations, scope docs, and solution recommendations for customers and partners.
• Shadow Sales Engineers across the sales lifecycle from discovery to turnover.
• Collaborate with Operations and Project Teams on installation, commissioning and project execution processes.
• Work with Service Operations to understand maintenance and lifecycle support strategies.
• Visit project sites to observe installations and learn integration of systems and networks.
• Utilize Salesforce and estimating tools to track opportunities and document projects.
• Translate complex engineering concepts into clear business value propositions for customers.
