Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Field Project Manager in the Norfolk, VA area to lead profitable project execution, including estimating, scheduling, and financial management. You will coordinate hardware design, installation, commissioning, and closeout while maintaining safety and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a technical degree with 3+ years in project management, strong MS Office skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with customers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Three years of Project Management experience.
• Basic accounting or cost principles.
• HVAC mechanical controls systems experience.
• Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate technical material to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary on-site leader assigned projects, overseeing execution from start to finish.
• Perform cost estimating, project scheduling and project management activities.
• Ensure projects are properly executed, billed on time and within scope.
• Manage materials selection, ordering, and delivery for assigned projects.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and contractors.
• Interface with customers throughout the project lifecycle to gather feedback.
