Job summary

Johnson Controls in Lynnfield, MA is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Designer to design, program, commission, and document HVAC control systems for complex facilities.

You will select hardware, develop diagrams, write software to standards, and prepare submittals, drawings, and manuals. You’ll load and Commission controllers, troubleshoot with contractors, and support owner training, all while following safety and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Three+ years installing or commissioning building controls systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Know-how in mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Advanced computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Select hardware designs from the standard design library for diagrams, sequences, BOMs, network layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Perform software programming using established standards as the basis of design.
• Coordinate the creation of drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
• Select, order, and track materials for assigned projects and coordinate factory-mounting processes to align with project schedules.
• Assist with loading and commissioning system and network-level controllers, validate overall system functionality, and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and other trades.
• Gather field changes and create as-built drawings and software; prepare documentation and manuals for system operation.
• Keep management and the customer informed of job progress, issues, and next steps.
• Support site-specific training for owner/operators on the total system.
• Complete time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation accurately and on time.
• Adhere to safety standards with a high degree of regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
