Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an HVAC Controls Systems Designer to design and program HVAC control systems under supervision. The role translates project needs into hardware, software, submittals, and installation docs while supporting commissioning and basic warranty response.

You will collaborate with consultants, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure drawings, schedules, and manuals meet project goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

University degree or 2-year degree with relevant experience required.
Experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems.
Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
Proven technical aptitude and computer skills.

Responsibilities

Design HVAC control system hardware and software per project requirements.
Select hardware from standard library for diagrams and BOMs.
Prepare submittals and docs for customers and field teams.
Perform software programming per standards and project needs.
Coordinate drawings, schedules, and operation manuals.
Order and track materials; support factory-mounting activities.
Assist with commissioning and warranty activities; troubleshoot with teams.
Keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and issues.
