Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Building Controls Engineer to design, configure, and optimize HVAC control systems for complex buildings. You will develop software, perform commissioning, and coordinate with field teams to ensure high-quality, timely delivery for projects.

The role requires knowledge of control theory, LON/BACnet protocols, and CAD drafting, with strong communication skills for collaboration across design, installation, and commissioning stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC industry and building automation systems from design/installation perspective.
• Experience with low-voltage building subsystems and industry protocols (LON, BACnet) and ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and configure complex building control systems per contract documents.
• Develop and test software for system operation as required by project.
• Coordinate drawings, equipment schedules and submittals for installation and commissioning.
• Manage material orders, tracking, and scheduling with factory teams.
• Assist in loading, commissioning, and validation of system functionality with subcontractors.
• Provide field change information for as-built drawings and software.
