Medders Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC / Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our Houston area team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on servicing commercial refrigeration equipment for a major retail customer, including walk-ins, ice machines, and related components.

The position pays $20–$30 per hour, DOE, and includes a company van for a four-technician team supporting 120 stores. Certifications are encouraged; prior Texas EPA credentials are preferred.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems.
• Service and troubleshoot walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Diagnose and repair commercial ice machines.
• Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, motors, pumps, and refrigeration circuits.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.

HVAC / Commercial Refrigeration Technician

Medders Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC / Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our team full-time.

We are looking for a dependable, skilled technician with experience servicing commercial refrigeration equipment, particularly walk-in coolers/freezers and commercial ice machines. The majority of this position will involve servicing refrigeration equipment for a major retail customer.

Pay

$20–$30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Position comes with company work van working with a team of 4 technicians and one Master HVAC Technician servicing a retail chain of 120 stores throughout the greater Houston area. Medders Construction provides company AMEX and fuel card. Please provide all refrigeration certifications you have achieved.

Job Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems
• Service and troubleshoot walk-in coolers and freezers
• Diagnose and repair commercial ice machines
• Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, motors, pumps, and refrigeration circuits
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection
• Perform preventative maintenance and routine inspections
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC/refrigeration components
• Respond to service calls and accurately document completed work
• Maintain a professional relationship with customers and store personnel
• Work independently while maintaining communication with our office and management
• Follow all applicable safety procedures and refrigeration regulations
• Travel between retail locations as required

Qualifications

Required:

• Previous experience working with commercial refrigeration
• Experience with walk-in coolers/freezers
• Experience servicing commercial ice machines
• Strong refrigeration troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls
• Professional appearance and good customer-service skills
• Ability to lift equipment/materials and work in varying temperatures and conditions

Preferred:

• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification
• Texas ACR Contractor/Technician credentials
• Experience with commercial HVAC systems
• Experience servicing refrigeration equipment in retail or restaurant environments
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs
• Electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience working with major commercial refrigeration manufacturers
