Job summary

Medders Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an experienced HVAC / Commercial Refrigeration Technician to join our Houston area team on a full-time basis. The role focuses on servicing commercial refrigeration equipment for a major retail customer, including walk-ins, ice machines, and related components.

The position pays $20–$30 per hour, DOE, and includes a company van for a four-technician team supporting 120 stores. Certifications are encouraged; prior Texas EPA credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong refrigeration troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Professional appearance and excellent customer-service skills.
• Ability to lift equipment and work in varying temperatures and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, install, and maintain commercial refrigeration systems.
• Service and troubleshoot walk-in coolers and freezers.
• Diagnose and repair commercial ice machines.
• Troubleshoot compressors, condensers, evaporators, controls, motors, pumps, and refrigeration circuits.
• Perform refrigerant recovery, evacuation, charging, and leak detection.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC/refrigeration components.
• Respond to service calls and document completed work.
