USA Mechanical & Energy Service is seeking an Estimator to support a scalable, best-in-class commercial HVAC business. The role requires independent work, collaboration with Accounts, Sales, Project Managers, and vendors, and will be based in East Granby, CT.

Responsibilities include take-offs, reading blueprints, preparing design/build budgets, change-orders, and obtaining subcontractor bids. Proficiency with MS Office and AutoCAD is essential.

Formación

• High School degree and specific job-related experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Proficient computer skills and use of software platforms (MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Teams/Zoom).
• Self-motivated, independent, and organized; able to drive bids.

Responsabilidades

• Develop proficiency in estimating software and processes.
• Perform take-offs of materials, labor, and subcontracts for HVAC and plumbing.
• Read blueprints and specifications to identify required materials.
• Prepare design/build and value engineering estimates; change-orders.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and vendor quotations.
• Establish relationships with subcontractors, vendors and customers.
• Ensure timely completion of estimates before bid deadlines.
• Create estimating spreadsheets and detailed proposals.
• Analyze job cost estimating data from reports.
• Negotiate with vendors/subcontractors to gain competitive edge.
• Communicate with customers about project status and competitiveness.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and AutoCAD in daily tasks.
