Job summary
Johnson Controls is seeking a highly skilled Staff Electrical Applications Engineer to support the design and sale of advanced HVAC chiller systems at our Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA. This onsite role also allows relocation to San Antonio, TX and involves close collaboration with sales, engineering, and product teams.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in electrical systems, power distribution, NEC/UL compliance, and creating robust, safe, and optimized
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering for HVAC or related fields.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems and data-center environments.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% for site visits and training.
Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sale electrical engineering support to internal sales teams and customers.
- Develop and review electrical system designs for HVAC chiller applications (power layouts, diagrams, control schematics).
- Ensure NEC/UL compliance and accurate electrical sizing and protection.
- Collaborate with product engineering, contract engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Troubleshoot field issues, participate in commissioning, and support cost estimation.
