Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Staff Application Engineer to support the sale of Chiller products through HVAC system branches and sales teams in export markets. The role, hybrid in San Antonio, TX or New Freedom, PA, emphasizes pre-sale technical support, quotations, and coordination with Order Management and Contract Engineering to drive data center chiller solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree is required.
10+ years of experience in HVAC or chiller technology.
Knowledge of refrigeration principles.
Up to 15% travel for factory/site visits.

Responsibilities

Provide pre-sale technical support and guidance on application of Chiller Solutions equipment.
Assist field sales with system applications and customer-specific solutions.
Develop tools and documentation to support field sales and automate common inquiries.
Respond to product details inquiries using in-house engineering systems.
Track new product development and stay current on products throughout life cycle.
Design and customize chiller systems for data center environments.
Support and counsel sales personnel to resolve equipment and code challenges.
Communicate with sales, design engineers and product management to ensure customer requirements are understood.
Obtain supplier quotations for cost and lead time on special requests.
Demonstrate knowledge of products, market conditions, and regulatory influences.
