The Smithsonian Institution, located in Suitland, MD, seeks a Utility Systems Repairer-Operator to perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair across refrigeration, HVAC, heating, and boiler systems within the Building Management Division.

The role includes operating and testing emergency generators, coordinating with engineering staff, and ensuring safety and compliance, including EPA Refrigerant Certification and standard background checks.

Competenze

• Experience with mechanical systems including refrigeration, air-conditioning, heating, steam distribution, humidification, and boiler systems.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and repairs; read basic schematics and perform tests.

Mansioni

• Perform full range of operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on cooling, heating, and boiler equipment.
• Install and diagnose equipment issues, modify and relocate systems for required conditions.
• Maintain and monitor Central Control Room data, alarms, and remedial actions.
