Job summary

Southeastern Louisiana University’s Department of Physical Plant Services invites applications for the position of Maintenance Repairer 2 in the HVAC Shop in Hammond, LA. The role requires working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing operations, with duties including cleaning air handling units and cooling towers, logging operations, and assisting in installing HVAC systems.

Schedule: Mon–Thu 6:30 am–4:00 pm, 45-minute lunch; Friday 6:30 am–11:30 am. Hourly Rate: $19.67.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or as a parks building and grounds attendant.
• Completion of a two-year vocational technical program in general building construction, construction technology, or engineering.
• Twelve semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering.

Responsibilities

• Maintain HVAC systems and related electrical/plumbing components.
• Clean air handling units, mechanical rooms, cooling towers, and equipment.
• Log equipment operations and assist in installing HVAC systems.
