Job summary

JLL is seeking a Mechanical Technician in Newark, DE to oversee preventative maintenance for mechanical and life safety systems. The role requires strong HVAC knowledge, safety in using hand tools, and the ability to coordinate with contractors to ensure reliable building operations.

You will monitor, document, and troubleshoot building systems while maintaining positive tenant relations and meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years of HVAC control systems experience.
• Ability to work safely with hand tools and at heights.
• Strong communication and tenant-relations skills.
• Able to meet deadlines and resolve building issues promptly.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Experience with building management systems is a plus.
• Certification in Refrigeration or Electrical Trade preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily inspections of building mechanical and electrical systems, performing maintenance and repairs.
• Monitor contractors to ensure quality and efficiency of contracted duties.
• Record mechanical readings and document system performance.
• Maintain preventative maintenance program for life safety equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve building system issues to meet deadlines and minimize tenant disruption.
• Maintain positive tenant relations through professional communication and responsive service.
• Work with hand tools and at heights to complete maintenance tasks.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously with attention to detail.
