Job summary

Town of Flower Mound seeks an experienced HVAC Technician to maintain, diagnose, and repair systems across municipal facilities.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, calibration, and testing of HVAC units per blueprints, along with electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks as needed. EPA Type II certification and a valid Texas license are required; two years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Trade school or HVAC training preferred.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and driving record compliant with Town policy.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, testing, and calibration on HVAC/R units and monitor systems electronically.
• Follow blueprints to install, service, and repair HVAC systems; connect electrical wiring and controls; verify proper operation.
• Install fuel and water lines, air ducts, vents, pumps, and other components.
• Use test equipment to troubleshoot complex problems and ensure operation within specifications.
• Maintain indoor air quality and recover refrigerants per EPA regulations.
• Monitor computer-based control systems and security systems; assist in contractor oversight.
• Offer input on policies, SOPs, and spare part inventories; assist with bids and quotes.
• Perform minor electrical repairs and general plumbing/carpentry tasks as needed.
