Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Specialist II for the Fulton County Jail site in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on HVAC service, building systems maintenance, and related carpentry/plumbing tasks within a high-safety environment.

Responsibilities include adjusting and monitoring HVAC systems, performing preventive maintenance, and mentoring junior staff. A technical degree or apprenticeship plus extensive maintenance experience is required.

Qualifications

• Requires two year technical degree or equivalent apprenticeship.
• Six or more years in operations & maintenance experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and building systems fundamentals.
• Ability to read drawings, schematics and blueprints.
• Comfort with safety procedures and on-call rotations.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• EPA Refrigeration Certification is preferred.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
• Team player with a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, maintain and monitor HVAC systems to spec.
• Perform general maintenance and custodial tasks in the facility.
• Provide direction and training to less experienced staff.
• Plan and layout materials for service and preventive maintenance.
• Work from drawings and operate various tools and machines.
• Requisition new supplies and equipment as needed.
• Adhere to established safety procedures at all times.
• Participate in on-call rotation for facility emergencies.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as required.
