Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Specialist II to support HVAC and building systems at a Fulton County Jail site in Atlanta, GA. The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, repairs, safety compliance and training of junior staff, with opportunities to work on electrical and BAS-related tasks.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree or equivalent experience, strong knowledge of HVAC and electrical fundamentals, and the flexibility to cover varying shifts.

Qualifications

• Requires two year technical degree or two years’ experience in Operations & Maintenance.
• Five or more years’ experience in operations and maintenance.
• In-depth knowledge of maintenance fundamentals.
• Ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Must use hand and power tools and a man lift.
• Basic electrical system knowledge.
• Possess a valid driver’s license.
• Team player committed to quality.
• Must pass a background check and interview.
• Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, maintain, monitor and adjust HVAC systems.
• Perform general maintenance and custodial tasks and related facility repairs.
• Provide direction and training to less experienced staff.
• Plan and lay out materials for maintenance work.
• Read drawings, schematics, blueprints and operate related tools.
• Requisition supplies and equipment as needed.
• Follow safety procedures in all tasks.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergencies.
• Adhere to company policies and standards.
• Perform other duties as required.
